While it is SO fun to follow my favorite photographers on Instagram, I really love getting to know them better through their blog.
Every month, HubHack members can participate in a blog circle. In addition to getting a glimpse at the work of other talented ladies around the world, blog circles are super high octane juice for SEO – meaning, Google will show you the love if other similar and reputable websites link to you! For more info on how it works check out this article: Blog Circles.
Ok – this month, we have a FABULOUS group of ladies participating! There were two circles of four ladies each. I want to share with you a little glimpse of their blog posts. I hope you’ll click over to read the full post and view all their pictures. I enjoyed each one so much!
Ah, now that looks like a lot of muddy fun! This month, North Carolina photographer Anna Rasmussen shared a poignant post that I just could not agree with more – I loved how she shared her heart. Anna is also a talented film shooter, and I’m always amazed at the photos she creates even when she can’t see an LCD screen on the back of her camera! How does she do it?! This month’s post is also all about B&W photography, so if you need some inspiration (have y’all checked out @thecandidclass‘s assignment this month?) click over to her post to start the circle. Be sure to click around the circle, it’s just four photographers, and I know you’ll enjoy it!

Next up is a gorgeous family sesh from Jo Shannon-Little, a photographer in Reading, Berkshire, UK. Dang, just look at that amazing English countryside? Who’s jealous right now? (Me!) I love these pictures, the beautiful colors and the authentic, but very frame-worthy, moments she captured.

You can follow Jo on Instagram at @jslittlephotography and she’s also a mod at one of my favorite hubs, @Camera_Mama! (If you’re late to the party, you just MUST come back after going through the blog circle and check out my video interview with the lovely founder of @camera_mama, Rebecca Malouf-Franson. We had too much fun!)
Rounding the bend on our circle is the lovely Ulli of Das Foto Studio out of Boise, Idaho. Ulli is also a mod for @camera_mama, so I bet it was fun to participate this month with her fellow mod, Jo. Her post showcases these creative B&W portraits taken of her daughters and of herself – I love that you can see the symmetry in their faces. The little girls especially resemble each other so much! What a wonderful idea to try with your own children!

Last, but certainly not least, is Claire Searle (rhymes with pearl!) who shares a gorgeous Australian family session. Claire moves effortlessly between her beautifully toned color images to deep and contrasty B&W’s. Her pictures portray emotion and connection between mom and dad and baby in a lovely way.

Well, that wraps up the first blog circle! You can jump into any post and follow the links around. But remember I said we had two circles, right? Feel free to pop into the next circle and see the work of photographers from Minnesota, to New York, from Canada to Georgia. (Ok, one of ’em might be me. I jumped in this month too!)
Hey hey! Our first blog post in the second circle kicks off with the gorgeous Michele of mQn Photography in Minneapolis, MN. She’s showing off her fabulously modern but industrial studio space. I’m totally jealous – it is seriously every photographer’s dream studio space!

We’re linking around to Hali of SweetLivPhotography in Rochester, NY. I am so excited for her, as she’s expecting her second child! All of us on Insta have fallen in love with her sweet daughter and are so thrilled to see her become a big sister! This month, Hali is being brave and getting in the frame to document this super special time in their lives.

We’re staying in the Northern part of North America as we circle up to Toronto, Canada for a super fun family session. Little Miss Only Child certainly ran the show! Janis Lempera did such a wonderful job of capturing the connection between mom and dad and child AND Aunt in this session, which is a gift for Grandma& Grandpa. The photos were taken in a fabulous loft space near downtown Toronto. Definitely check it out for inspiration on how to capture children being themselves, in a fun and natural way.

Ok, and while we’re at it, I shared an in-home newborn session. I actually photographed this same family only a year before, when their son was born. It was so fun to document their first days at home together, as a family of four.
